Job Posting: Elementary School Principal
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction
Position: Full-Time, 210 Day Contract August 4, 2025 - June 30, 2026
Pinckney Community Schools seeks a dynamic, dedicated, and visionary leader to serve as the Principal of Farley Hill Elementary. Pinckney is in Livingston County, known for its suburban-rural mix and a draw for nature lovers with its parks, lakes, and trails. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering student success, supporting teachers, and creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, and families.
Position Overview:
The Elementary School Principal will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the school, including academic programming, student achievement, school climate, staff development, and community engagement. The principal will work closely with the district leadership team, teachers, support staff, parents, and the community to promote the mission and vision of Pinckney Community Schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of instructional programs that support the academic success and well-being of all students.
- Create a positive and safe school culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and high standards of behavior.
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, community members, and other stakeholders to ensure active involvement and collaboration in the educational process.
- Develop and manage school budgets, ensuring resources are aligned with student and program needs.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and educational standards.
- Lead school improvement planning and data-driven decision-making to continuously improve student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
- Valid Michigan Administrative Certification.
- Preferred: 5 years of successful experience in educational leadership, with experience as an elementary school principal.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction, assessment practices, and best practices for elementary education.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire staff, students, and the community toward achieving school-wide goals.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Ability to analyze data and use evidence-based practices to drive decision-making.
