Job Title: Head Coach – Pinckney Aquatic Club (PAC)
$18.00 per hour
Position Overview
Pinckney Aquatic Club is seeking a dedicated, highly organized, and communicative Head Coach to lead our swim program. The Head Coach is responsible for the technical development of swimmers, the administrative management of meet logistics, and serving as the primary face of the club to parents, the league, and the community.
This position is contracted through Edustaff.
Core Responsibilities
1. Technical Coaching & Instruction
- Workout Programming: Design and execute daily practice plans tailored to varying skill levels.
- Stroke Development: Demonstrate expert knowledge of all four competitive strokes; ability to effectively teach and demonstrate specific drills to improve swimmer technique.
- Safety: Maintain a safe deck environment; must hold and maintain active Lifeguard and First Aid certifications.
2. Meet Management & Administration
- Lineups: Create and enter meet lineups into the team’s computer management software (e.g., TeamUnify or Meet Manager).
- Meet Logistics: Lead the physical setup of the pool for home meets and ensure all equipment is ready for competition.
- Inventory: Oversight of team supplies; responsible for ordering ribbons and other seasonal needs (or coordinating with the Board to ensure they are ordered).
3. Communication & Leadership
- Team Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for swimmers and parents, ensuring clear and professional communication regarding progress and schedules.
- Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate with assistant coaches and parent volunteers.
- Board & Community Liaison: Provide regular updates to the Swim Team Board and maintain a professional working relationship with Pinckney Community Education.
- League Representation: Represent PAC at quarterly league meetings (approx. 4–5 per year) and maintain open lines of communication with other area coaches.
Job Requirements
- Reliability: Must be highly dependable and consistent for all scheduled practices and meets.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to handle last-minute changes in practice locations or schedules due to facility issues or coordination with other programs.
- Certifications:
- Current Lifeguard Certification (must be kept up to date).
- Current First Aid Certification.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfort using computer programs for meet entries and email/digital communication.
Schedule & Availability
- Daily Practices: Monday–Friday, typically between 3:00 PM – 7:30 PM.
- Meets: Evening availability for weekday meets; occasional weekend availability for larger events or Championship meets.
- Meetings: Attendance at quarterly league meetings and monthly Board meetings.
